Panel EventsThe Living Arts Institute brings together key figures locally, regionally or nationally in a given arena in a public forum to discuss aspects of the current overarching theme. Our current theme is aging and ageism, as explored in the legend, Two Old Women, written down by Velma Wallis, and as we experience them today. Our Panel Event, Re-Imaging Life Over 50: A View for All Ages, held on June 16, 2007 in Dennis, MA, took an all-inclusive look at the experience of aging. Our upcoming Panel Event, Women Living Well Beyond 50: Re-Imagining Our Future, to be held October 20th from 3:00-5:00 pm at Cape Cod Community College, will focus on issues more specific to women. How will our experience be like that of Sa’ and Ch’idzigyaak of the legend or our mothers and grandmothers before us? Or, can we, with new information, re-imagine our futures in ways not possible before, preparing the way for our daughters? |
